Accounting Standards & Policies Intern

What You'll Do:

Criteo is seeking an Intern to support the Accounting Standards & Policies department within the Group Controllership organization. You will report to the Senior Manager, SEC Reporting, Accounting Standards & Policies and will assist in analyzing non-routine, and unique transactions from a US GAAP/IFRS perspective. You will assist in researching relevant accounting guidance to help identify key accounting issues and to document accounting solutions and disclosure requirements for complex and non-routine transactions. You will also work on ensuring all accounting policies are updated and documented in an internal database.

Thus, your responsibilities will be as follows :

  • Assist the Senior Manager, SEC Reporting, Accounting Standards & Policies, as necessary in various projects. The Accounting Standards & Policies department interprets U.S. GAAP /IFRS accounting standards and SEC guidance to determine the accounting and financial reporting treatment, including internal control considerations, for new, material, and/or complex, unusual transactions or agreements.
  • Assist in drafting technical accounting policy memos, documenting accounting research and conclusions including updating policies and procedures as needed to ensure adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls over external financial reporting
  • Support with recurring quarterly close activities such as disclosure checklists, researching of new accounting standards, drafting of CFO monthly and quarterly close presentations
  • Review and summarize non-standard/complex contracts
  • Creation and maintenance of an internal database for accounting standards and policies
  • Conduct reconciliations of certain key balance sheet accounts
  • Other accounting/finance projects as assigned.

Who You Are:

  • Master's student in Accounting or Finance
  • Fluent English (both written and spoken). This position will require you to read and interpret US GAAP accounting standards. You must also be comfortable with writing professional documents, i.e. accounting memos, in English.
  • Having taken at least one accounting course
  • Excel skills
  • SAP experience is a plus
