Manage the call
Steven, Senior Technical Recruiter, Ann Arbor
I lead talent acquisition for our R&D teams in the Americas. I've spent the last 8 years in technical recruiting and love working with a diverse group of very smart, creative, and interesting people. I live and work in Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA, with my wife, daughter, son (coming May 2021), and a small hobby farm full of animals including 2 rescue donkeys.
- Smile! Your mood comes through in your tone on the phone and even more so on VC.
- Do your best to minimize distractions, but if they do happen, don't let it throw you off too much. We're all in this together and everyone has had a meeting interrupted by a kid, dog, or doorbell.
- Don't hesitate to ask about our response and policies regarding the current pandemic and resulting changes to our work situation.
- Get your tech in line - stable wifi, headphones, device charged or plugged in, notifications muted, etc.
Distinguish yourself
Kana, Recruiter, Tokyo
Konichiwa! I am a recruiter based in Tokyo for our APAC market. I am half Japanese and half American. While I live in the land of sushi now, I was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, the land of beaches and sunshine. I joined Criteo over 2 years ago and I've been really happy with my decision.
- Do your research! Interviewers can tell if you have taken time to do some research about Criteo and our products. You can also look up your interviewer(s) on LinkedIn beforehand so you have a better idea of who you will meet. If you do your homework, it may give you an advantage for the interview, plus some brownie points!
- Be yourself! At the end of the day, an interview is a two-way street. As much as we are interviewing you, you are interviewing us. At Criteo, culture and value alignment is important, so let's see if there is a match!
Take it to the next level
Nate, Senior Director of Global Talent Acquisition
Hi! I’m Nate, I lead the Global Talent Acquisition team by day, and excel as a Korean Drama specialist by night. I am based in Paris, have lived in Singapore and London, and am originally from Australia. I’ve also done my fair share of interviews (on both sides of the desk!), so here are some tips to help you get mentally prepared for the remote interview.
- Feeling nervous? Do something you're good at before the interview. This will give you a confidence boost.
- Pay attention to your body language; sit comfortably and have a glass of water (or tea!) handy, in case you get thirsty.
- Take some deep breaths to help relieve your stress.
- And most importantly, be you! It’s important that you are able to be your full self at work, so don’t pretend to be someone else at your interview. We value diversity and authenticity – embrace you!
Good luck with your interview!
