What You'll Do:

CRITEO is seeking both intermediate and senior backend‑focused software engineers with a strong interest in data processing to join our amazing Product Engineering team in our new Bucharest office! 🚀

Join a team where your work truly makes an impact. You’ll be building high‑quality, maintainable code that powers the processing and analysis of over 7 billion events every day — a number that continues to grow rapidly each year.

The Reporting Pipelines team is responsible for building and operating complex big data pipelines that measure the performance of our ad campaigns. The output of these pipelines is a critical asset in our data mesh and is used by multiple downstream processes, from delivering insights and reports to our clients, producing data for data scientists and analysts, to feeding our billing systems.

Your main responsibilities :

  • Design and build robust, scalable data pipelines processing terabytes of data 💾

  • Actively contribute to shaping the technical roadmap and long-term architecture 🧭

  • Continuously deploy applications, improving efficiency, reliability, and performance

  • Partner with Product and Program Management to deliver high-impact projects in an Agile environment

  • Collaborate with multicultural, cross-functional R&D teams to ensure seamless system integration 🌐

  • Champion a strong engineering culture focused on quality, scalability, and craftsmanship 🛠️

  • Mentor and support junior engineers, helping them grow and succeed 🌱

Beyond these responsibilities, you bring experience in building large scale data pipelines. We are looking for a passionate individual to create high-performing, scalable and well-designed back end systems that serve as the foundation for critical internal and customer-facing platforms at Criteo.

Who You Are:

  • You have 4+ years of experience building and evolving large-scale, complex systems

  • You’re proficient in Object-Oriented Programming (C#, Python, Scala, C++, Java) and SQL

  • You have experience building data-intensive applications

  • Exposure to big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark) is a strong plus

  • You value reusability and enjoy simplifying complexity.

  • You’re curious about new technologies and may even lead personal projects to explore them.

  • You have a positive, collaborative mindset and a “can-do” attitude when tackling challenges.

  • You thrive in Agile environments and are passionate about delivering high-quality code.

  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit — you work well with others and contribute to a positive team culture.

We acknowledge that many candidates may not meet every single role requirement listed above. If your experience looks a little different from our requirements but you believe that you can still bring value to the role, we’d love to see your application!
