What You'll Do:
As GL Accounting Payroll Manager, you'll report to the Senior Manager of Accounting and play a key role in ensuring payroll activity is accurately and completely reflected in the general ledger across all countries we operate in. As part of this, you'll drive the monthly close process, including journal entries, accruals, and full reconciliation between HR data and our ERP.
You'll lead a dedicated team, organizing workloads, running regular 1:1s, and making sure tasks are completed accurately and on time. Getting the fundamentals right matters to us, and you'll be expected to bring both rigor and a positive energy to how the team operates.
This role operates in a SOX-compliant environment, and you will be expected to deliver your SOX controls on time and to the required standard of quality.
You'll work closely with People teams across multiple countries, developing a solid understanding of local payroll specifics and becoming a trusted accounting partner to HR, as well as with the broader accounting and controllership team, FP&A, and other finance stakeholders. A key part of the role involves standardizing and improving how payroll integrates into our financial statements globally.
We're also migrating from SAP to Oracle Cloud ERP, and this role will have the opportunity to contribute to how payroll accounting is designed in our future system — a good fit for someone who takes pride in running a tight process and is genuinely curious about technology and automation.
Perimeter included in your scope is worldwide, and centralized per region : Americas, EMEA and APAC.
Your tasks will include:
- Management of the team:
- Ensure a common set of documentation for the whole team and communicate it to all team members
- Ensure that each member of the team has a complete understanding of their role
- Set up an appropriate cadence of individual meetings (weekly or bi-monthly) with clear allocation of tasks
- Run a weekly review of tasks to be performed and define priorities for the team
- Preparation of regular updates to the Management
- Preparation and analysis of KPI’s, define new action steps
- Daily :
- Control of payroll proposals addressed by People department
- Preparation of HR accruals including bonus, and holiday pay
- Follow up and accounting for all impacts related to the exercise of stock options and RSU by our employees
- Sanity check on payroll and associated items
- Prepare cash landing and cash forecast processes
- Month end closing :
- Review of all payroll journals
- Recording of all accounting entries relating to bonus and vacation pay accruals
- Full reconciliation and documentation of both Balance Sheet and P&L positions related to payroll
- Analysis of movements in all payroll related balance sheet accounts
- Preparation of SOX controls
- Analysis and understanding of all major variances in social charge ratios
- Follow up on prior month points raised to People Department
- Scalability :
- Harmonize and standardize payroll accounting across all Criteo entities
- Support the integration of payroll data flows from our payroll provider(s) into the accounting systems
- Play an active role in the migration from SAP to Oracle Cloud ERP, contributing to the design of payroll accounting processes in the future system
- Integrate new countries or acquisitions into standard Criteo processes
- Relationship with auditors:
- Preparation of all PBC payroll related requests and their appropriate analysis on a quarterly and yearly basis.
- Other ad-hoc projects / tasks

Who You Are:
- 5–7 years of practical accounting experience, including specialization in payroll accounting with a multinational scope
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team (4 people), keeping work organized and priorities clear
- Good working knowledge of SAP; Oracle Cloud ERP is a strong plus
- Experience working in a SOX environment
- Experience in a fast-moving, complex international environment
- Highly organized, autonomous, and results-driven
- Accounting qualification (ACCA, CA, or local accounting certification)
- Fluent English; any other language is a plus
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-player mindset
- A genuine interest in process excellence, with a strong desire to use AI and other technologies to automate work
- Strong Excel skills
