What You'll Do:
Lead an engineering team with the core focus of creating high quality, maintainable code that processes and analyzes over 7 billion events daily (and doubling every year)
Utilize one the largest private Hadoop clusters in the world and a bleeding edge suite of technologies that push the limits of modern data processing
Design and perfect data models that isolate signal in the noise of real world data and make difficult challenges possible for fellow engineers
Be a part of a team working on high volume, highly available systems, critical to the success of the business
Participate in architecture discussions, influence the product road map, and take ownership over delivery of new projects
Who You Are:
BS in Computer Science or a related field
Experience in managing a software development team, providing regular feedback, mentorship or coaching to software engineers
7+ years of software engineering experience, ideally in a compiled language (C#, Java, Go, etc.)
Rock-solid foundation in Computer Science (data modeling, data structures, algorithms, optimization)
Familiarity with ETL and multi-stage data processing systems
Experience developing and extending systems of moderate complexity
A passion for shipping quality, high-performance code
A strong sense of ownership and a dislike for passing the buck
A problem solver, a fixer, and a creative technologist. We believe coding is a talent and a passion, not just a skill
